Mother of Five Runs to Freedom from Domestic Abuse

Green Bay Packers, Verizon to collect used cell phones for domestic violence victims

Sep. 27, 2011 - Verizon Wireless and the Green Bay Packers kicked off a campaign Tuesday to collect used phones at home games and retail locations in an effort to fight domestic violence in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The phones are refurbished or sold with the proceeds used to purchase newer wireless phones for domestic violence survivors. Verizon Wireless will also donate $10 to a local domestic violence shelter. Golden House will recieve the donation for phones recieved between October 2nd and October 9th.

Homeless could feel impact of major cuts to National Emergency Food and Shelter Program

Sep. 6, 2011 - Major cuts to National Emergency Food and Shelter Program resulted in the elimination of grants for Brown County and other Northeastern Wisconsin counties directly affecting area shelters.
