Child Care ProviderBe a positive role model. Supervise play time and/or a structured activity with children while their mom attends support group. This is a scheduled volunteer opportunity Monday-Thursday 6-7:30 PM (additional days/times can be arranged).
Teach kids and teens about healthy relationships through our Prevention Education Program. Assist our educator with presentations in Brown County schools (K-12) and for community organizations. Presentations include lively dicussions with videos, puppets and more to engage and educate our youth. Training provided, one year commitment. For more information contact Dina Borremans
Front Desk/Crisis SupportBe a friendly face. Answer phones, greet clients and donors and assist residents with compassion. This volunteer position requires additional training and a one year commitment of three hours per week.
Office AssistantShare your skills by helping with data entry and general office tasks. This is a flexible volunteer opportunity
Shelter MaintenanceProvide a safe and welcoming place where victims can find support. Work on seasonal cleaning, yard work, painting, small repairs, and other special projects. This is a flexible volunteer opportunity.
Donation AssistantFulfill the basic needs of victims by organizing and stocking donations of food, clothes, and other items. This is a flexible volunteer opportunity.
Gold Ribbin' BBQ Fest CommitteeRaise awareness and financial support for victims services during this celbration of family, food, and fun. This three day event includes a Friday night VIP dinner, Saturday picnic, and BBQ competition. The committee is responsible for planning and hosting the event, including securing donations, selling raffle tickets, and organizining volunteers. Committee members must be able to attend regular monthly meetings leading up to the event and the event iteself.
Show of Strength CommitteeCelebrate healthy relationships and raise financial support for victim services. This interactive art experience includes a silent auction of local adult and teen artwork, hands-on art projects, culinary creations and more. The committee is responsible for planning and hosting the event including securing donations, selling event tickets, and organizing volunteers. Committee members must be able to attend regular monthly meetings leading up to the event and the event itself.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month CommitteeRemember those lost to domestic violence, celebrate those who have survived, and come together to say No More during the month of October. This committee is responsible for developing and facilitating educational opportunities that bring awareness of domestic abuse to the community. Committee members must be able to attend regular meetings leading up to and through October.
Board of Directors Member
Serve as a member of the governing body of volunteers that work in collaboration with Golden House staff to ensure the overall success of the organization. Board members are responsible for fund development, financial oversight and governance. They meet monthly and are required to serve on at least one committee. Finance CommitteeProvide stable services for victims by keeping Golden House financially sound. The committee meets regularly to review financial statements, develop and review policies/procedures, and identify possible financial efficiencies.
Fund Development Committee
Connect with those who want to make a difference. The committee meets monthly to develop strategies for new fund development, identifies and recruits potential sponsors, and researches additional fund development options. For additional information contact Dina Borremans
