Golden House’s Make A Million Matter Campaign is a bold campaign to expand and strengthen safety for domestic abuse survivors and their children within our brand new walls. As the community’s only provider of comprehensive domestic violence services, Golden House supports individuals and families as they rebuild their lives after abuse. At Golden House, safety is only the first step. Survivors who walk through our doors receive life-saving advocacy, emotional support, and resources that empower them to move from crisis toward healing and independence. Our advocates stand beside survivors every step of the way, recognizing that every person’s journey from victim to survivor looks different. Golden House follows a trauma-informed approach that supports holistic recovery and wellness. The effects of domestic violence can deeply impact how victims see themselves and the world around them. Trauma can alter emotions, thoughts, behavior, and physical health, often affecting decision-making and the body’s stress response long after the abuse has ended. Because healing is not one-size-fits-all, survivors need time, privacy, and access to compassionate support. Golden House provides counseling, advocacy, and resources that allow survivors and their children to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
