Volunteer Opportunities

Providing safety and support for victims of domestic abuse while leading efforts to end domestic violence in our community is a mission that requires the dedication and collaboration of an entire community. At Golden House, we know that together, we can create lasting change and help individuals rebuild their lives in a safe, empowering environment. We offer a variety of ways to get involved, whether you’re a volunteer, intern, board member, or committee member. Each role plays a vital part in helping Golden House deliver the services our community needs.
Volunteers can contribute in countless ways, including assisting with childcare, leading group activities for both adults and children, preparing meals for our shelter, organizing donations or offering fundraising event support. You can also help with indoor and outdoor maintenance tasks like painting and cleaning or share your expertise by teaching life skills such as budgeting and resume building. Interns gain hands-on experience in the field of social services and can make a direct impact through their work, supporting both the daily operations and long-term goals of Golden House. Whether in administration, client support, or outreach, interns have the opportunity to develop valuable skills while making a difference in the lives of survivors.
Board members and committee members provide leadership and strategic direction. These dedicated individuals help guide Golden House toward its mission of ending abuse, ensuring sustainability, and building partnerships within the community. By serving in these roles, board and committee members play a crucial part in shaping the future of Golden House and amplifying our reach.
Your involvement at Golden House—whether as a volunteer, intern, board member, or committee member—plays a critical role in advancing our work and supporting survivors on their journey toward healing. By getting involved, you become a key part of the movement to provide safety and support while working on ending domestic violence in our community. No matter your skills or availability, there’s a place for you to contribute. Join the team at Golden House today and make a meaningful difference in our community.
