Volunteer Opportunities




Supporting victims and ending abuse requires a whole community.

Golden House offers many volunteer opportunities. Volunteer for childcare, group activities with adults and/or children, cooking a shelter meal, event support, outdoor and indoor maintenance (painting and cleaning), teaching a life skill (budgeting, resume building, etc.) along with many other opportunities. Get involved today.

Available Positions

Volunteer Application
Serve as a volunteer and become a member of our dedicated team that provides help and healing to domestic violence victims and survivors. With the generous gift of your time, talent, and personal interests, you supplement the work of staff in offering many special services that are important not only to our clients, but also to staff. Volunteering is a great way to learn new skills, serve your community, and meet new people.
Internship Application
Join our dedicated team to gain work experience, knowledge about domestic violence, the mission of Golden House, and the services we provide. 
Board Member Application
Serve as a member of the governing body of volunteers that work in collaboration with Golden House staff to ensure the overall success of the organization. Board members are responsible for fund development, financial oversight and governance. They meet monthly and are required to serve on at least one committee. Committee Member Application
Serve as a member of a committee that works in collaboration with Golden House staff to ensure the overall success of the organization. Committee members may serve on one or multiple committees. Golden House committees are:
  • Building Committee - Ensure the Golden House facility and grounds are properly maintained and oversee projects and tasks needed
  • Finance Committee - Review personnel policy and procedure; monitor and review regular financials; present long term investment options; and present annual budget
  • Fund Development Committee - Develop, facilitate, and evaluate fund development strategies that ensure adequate revenue to meet budget expenses and service needs
    • Sub Committee - Show of Strength (Golden House’s annual fall fundraising event)
    • Sub Committee - Summer Event (Golden House's summer fundraising event)
  • Governance Committee - develop and review board policy; board development
  • Marketing Committee - Develop consistent and mission driven marketing strategy
  • Program Committee - Review and evaluate current programming and services to suggest evidence based improvements and updates
